Hi, Friends! I’m here today with a quick and easy project for you that’s just perfect for back-to-school – a personalized pencil case made using my die-cut machine and vinyl! Personalized Pencil Case with Vinyl Monogram

Ugh! I know! I said back to school! It seems I blinked, and it’s here already. I can’t believe how fast the summer went by! In another few weeks, my kiddos will be heading back, and I think some of yours may already be back, which means it’s possible you may be kicking back with a coffee breathing a sigh of relief for the much-needed break or wiping away the tears for their first day of school – maybe ever. Either way, I send you either a high-five or a hug and a tissue or maybe both!

Personalised Pencil Pouch

I happened to be perusing the dollar store aisles for some back to school water bottles the other day – I just love a dollar store craft, don’t you? – When I came across this unbelievably cute pencil case. My daughters are in Middle school so we won’t be getting supplies until fee day, but I just couldn’t resist! I loved the pattern and the colors and thought it would be even better with a touch of personalization. Who wouldn’t like a monogrammed pencil case, even if it meant going back to school?

Supplies

Here’s what you will need for this project:
* A Die-cut machine – I love my Cricut. Find out why here!
* A pencil case of your choice
* A monogram pattern
I purchased my monogram pattern from the Silhouette store. In case you aren’t familiar, the order of letters when creating a monogram is first name, last name, middle name for an individual.
To create the monogram in Silhouette Studio, just select add text from the tools bar and select your monogram font, type in your initials, with the middle initial in caps – this will create the circle around the monogram which you can choose to include in your design.

Once your design is ready, go ahead and cut it out. I’ve written about how to cut vinyl and adhere it in the past – for more information you can check here.
Then, it’s time to adhere the design to the case. I found it easiest to use transfer paper for adding the monogram to the pencil case.

Add a few fun pencils and you’re done! Just like that!

    I love this! It would make a great gift, too.

      Thanks Morena! I was thinking the same thing! It would be a great gift for a teacher with some dry erase markers and a gift card!

    I love this and I just got a Cricut, so maybe I can try something like this!

      You definitely could! I have the smallest version of the Silhouette and I like it but one day maybe I'll invest in a real machine! ha! How do you like your Cricut so far? I tried one out at Haven.
