Hi! My name is Kim, and I’m so glad to meet you!
If you are interested in working with me, first, I’m so excited! And next, please check out my contact page.
A little about my blog…
The name Knock it off Kim is kind of a tribute to my mother, my most favorite creative mentor. “Knock it off!” was a favorite saying of hers. Like all things that we do that our parents did, whether we want to or not, it’s a favorite of mine with my children.. on warm summer days, when the windows are open, you may hear my voice saying it loud and clear.. my neighbors certainly are! I know my mom would be happy to know that after all this time, I’m finally knocking it off as she told me to, at least in some capacity. PS. I miss you, Mom!
I started this blog in March of 2013, on the recommendation of some great friends and family members. I think they were all just tired of me showing them the things I’d made or had been working on and wanted me to have another outlet. I’ve loved working on it, learning from it.
I like to share how-to’s or crafts. I love planning and hosting parties, do-it-yourself projects of many types, favorite recipes, both old and new. I enjoy sharing glimpses into my home decorating adventures, and bits of pieces of my daily life and moments with my family. Other’s creations and styles inspire me, and I like to share those inspirations with my readers. My goal is to share this happy place with you and to provide you with even a small bit of inspiration for your happy place. If I can make you laugh in the process, or provide something informative that you might need, I might even consider having done my job well!
If you ever have a question or comment, please, feel free to email me at email@example.com. You can also follow along with me on Google+, Facebook, or Pinterest.
A little about me..
I’m wife to a superman named Shay, who keeps me laughing. We’ve been married going on nine years, each better than the last.
Between us, we have five super crazy, but utterly unbelievable, kids aged 24 (Brandon), 22 (Megan), 13 (Bekah), 12 (Kyla) and 9 (Ayden). I had three; he had one, we had one, now they are all ours. Three are still at home; two have flown the coup. This is beginning to sound like a math lesson, no? Whew!
We juggle elementary and middle school, early adulthood, blended families, a bit of autism, and personal goals and career aspirations daily, mostly with grace! There is a new story every single day. We live in a great neighborhood that is a bit like Mayberry, in a great house that we were absolutely in love with.. until we started making lists of things to do to change it! Add to that a heavy dose of homeschooling for one and you have my life!
In my spare time, when I have any, I like reading, everything I do within this blog, camping in a girly way, and the Vancouver Canucks – you can take the girl out of Vancouver, but you can’t take the Vancouver out of the girl. Wait! Let’s not forget shoes. I do love putting together an outfit, so add fashion to the list. Despite all the chaos and insanity, this family, this home, this life was the best thing I’ve ever done.. and am still doing!
Thanks for stopping by, and please, do so again!
