Halloween is my favorite holiday. How can you not love a holiday (however pagan it might be) that is all about fun and candy? It’s entirely about having fun with your kids and there is just not one other time that I can think of that is entirely about just that.. having fun. And eating candy.

Every year for the past five years (this will be our fifth) we have thrown a raging family Halloween party for 60+ of our nearest and dearest. It started out as a way to blenderize our blended family and has sort of taken on a life of it’s own ever since then. This year promises to be no different.

To give you an idea of what’s coming..

I usually start planning in the summer, decorating.. last week.. or not.. , and I vow every October to put everything else on the back burner until it’s all done. Right. Maybe in the life of another!

Although I have started decorating for the party, I had to take a step back as I’m hosting a Ladies Bunco Night tomorrow night. While my theme is clearly not Creepy Carnival, Halloween in general is definitely appropriate. This weekend we’ll be back to super creepy carnival prepping, but for now, slightly creepy elegance is the order of the day! I’ll also need to finish painting and trimming my front entrance.. but that’s a whole other story!

I’m just so excited to put it all together this year! So excited, that I had share my temporary front door vignette.

I just love that my little crow friend is sitting outside the bird cage staring eerily.

Yes. Halloween is on it’s way.. and I say.. BRING IT!
