2017 is coming to an end! Today, we’re sharing a roundup of your favorite posts – decor, crafts, and entertaining – from KnockitoffKim written over the past year.
And just like that, Christmas is over! I’ve been trying like mad to relax this week, but the wheels won’t stop turning. It’s time to pack up all of the holiday decor. I’m ready for New Year’s cleaning and organization. I want to set goals for the upcoming year for all I want to accomplish professionally and personally. Truth: I’ve been carrying my measuring tape around taking measurements or four in all of our unfinished rooms! Just me? Okay then – I’ll simmer down and have another cookie.
Although I’m knee-deep in planning for this upcoming year, it’s always nice to take a minute to reflect on the past year, and all we accomplished. Life is such a whirlwind that it seems like nothing ever gets completed around here, which is why this blog is so much fun for me – it documents all of the things that happened – in this case, I documented at least 60 things that happened! It’s nice to see that at least a few projects were completed and to reflect on all the fun we had.

DIY and DECOR
Last year I participated in two make-over challenges – The $100 Room Challenge in January and the One Room Challenge last summer.
The $100 Room Challenge resulted in my fun and functional powder room, and I shared all of the details on how to make-over your powder room for just $100. One of your
and my favorite projects from the challenge was the Caitlin Wilson inspired DIY Stenciled Bold Painted Wall Treatment that brought the whole room together. A year later, seeing this room still makes me smile!
Later in the year, our Foyer got the One Room Challenge treatment when we finished off the facelift we’d started years before. I love the eclectic modern feel, and the wainscotting makes me swoon to this day. The popular How to transform your stairs with paint and our DIY Glass-look Acrylic Disc Pendant light tutorial both helped to make our entrance warm, inviting and colorful!
We’re oft-entertainers and this year was no exception to that. Not that I’ve had time to blog about all of our shenanigans! #badblogger However, rest assured that we enjoyed the year with various parties and events. Sometimes, we just invented reasons to celebrate!
We started the year off right with a Back to School Party tablescape and celebration.
Set the scene for a Tony Awards Party with a South Pacific Themed tablescape.
I finally got around to adding a tutorial (and free pattern!) for this fun 50s Pink Cadillac Photo Prop for our 50s party.
We set a fun Modern/Vintage Christmas Tablescape.
Although there was plenty of crafting going on, these were some of your favorite projects.
Goodbye wild and wonderful 2017! Hello, 2018! I’m looking forward to seeing what 2018 has to offer. Many thanks to you for your support this past year and all of your kind comments and emails. I’m grateful for many things, including you! Happy New Year – may the coming year bring your happiness and prosperity and lots of reasons to “knock it off”!
