A CELESTIAL CHRISTMAS TABLE SETTING

christmas star - christmas tablescape

One of my favorite Christmas songs, O Holy Night, and the celestial trend you see everywhere right now, inspired by my moody, wintery table.

Holiday Table with stars

It's hardly traditional, but I love the deep, unexpected jewel tones combined with a few traditional elements.

The Tablerunner

The table runner in a blue as deep as a clear night sky sets the tone for the table.

The Centerpiece

We all know I like to keep my centerpieces wild and untamed, and this one is no exception. Because my table is so long, I divided the piece up into three sections.

Ruby red poinsettias are joined by peonies, evergreens, while violet-blue speedwell adds contrast and interest.

The Table Setting

Christmas is one of the few times we pull out our good china.

The silver-rimmed china is perfect for this setting, especially topped with a celestial dessert plate decorated in silver and gold stars then topped with miniature tree toppers.

My stenciled napkins make another appearance, adding a dash of violet. Although an unusual addition, when I look to the night skies I see many colors - violet being one of them.

Other Decor

My favorite element of this heavenly Christmas table is the overhead mobile, with it's cascading moons and stars setting just the right tone for the table.

stars and moons mobile

O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

O night divine, indeed!

Love the use of the willow tree angel. I’ve heard tablescapers say so many times “shop your home,” and this is a great example of that. I never would have thought of using that. Thanks for sharing.

Kim, I love your O Holy Night theme and how you carried it out here. That Willow Tree angel is very nice in her hark above the centerpiece, and I agree with you in that my favorite element is the set of starry mobiles hanging from above. The way you offset your plate stack is a unique way of setting the table. Nicely done! Merry December!

Kim, your table really conveys the specialness of the season. Your deep blue runner and gold stars throughout the table and in your mobile, surrounds everyone at your gorgeous table with the hint of being apart of the O Holy Night. Your Willow tree angel adds to your heavenly and majestic feel. A beautiful table to count your blessings for. Have a wonderful and blessed holiday season.

Kim, what a unique and special theme for your holiday table that will transition beautifully to New Years. Lots of great details like the navy runner and sweet star candles. But, I simply adore that decorated chandy! Did you share how you did it? I’d love to copycat for my https://debbeesbuzz.com/celestial-tablescape-rings-new-year/ if you wouldn’t mind?

Kim, I love the theme of your table! What a great idea, to base your table around such a lovely Christmas carol! Your angel is quite heavenly, and how lovely all of the stars used throughout your table. I particularly noticed the star pattern in your stemware! Now, may I have a star cookie, please? Have a very merry Christmas!
